National Marine Aquarium Digital Signage Systems
To compliment the existing paper based information points, two Onelan NTBs have been connected to the main IT network and programmed to display various information to two different locations within the National Marine Aquarium using 42inch display screens.
The first display screen is located behind the main ticketing booth of the aquarium and has been zoned to display a variety of customer information ranging from admission prices, scheduled talk times, sleep over events and advertising. Zones vary from fixed to scrolling text, and content is displayed in multiple languages to cater for the wide range of visitors who visit the venue thoughtout the year.
The second display, which is located within Sam’s Café which is seperate to the aquarium's main building, has been zoned to display daily menu options and prices alongside a much larger zone which has a direct feed from a freeview news channel. This channel automatically switches to a freeview music channel in the afternoon for customers’ easy listening. Tickertape detailing real time weather forecasts also continually scroll across the bottom of the screen, so that customers can decide whether to stay for another cup of tea or not!
Content of both systems are managed remotely by the NMA’s IT department which has brought huge benefits in terms of money saving for the registered charity.
