To acheive the above remit firstly Pyramid needed to find a suitable venue to host this event. As preferred suppliers for all the leading local hotels Pyramid spoke with the conference & event staff at the 'Holiday Inn Plymouth' to confirm availability of the Mariner Suite Ballroom on the date required.

On confirmation of the venue Pyramid then started to work on the theme of the evening which was to reflect on the Spar brand over the past 50 years. Working with the theme it was decided to completely transform the ballroom to 'surprise' all guests on arrival who were aware of the decor of the room!

To do this a box truss was built to completely enclose the room and from this white cloth hung upon which a total of seven projection images could be used. This along with lighting could then create a completely different enviroment for each of the 5 decades throughout the evening.

Along with this a video montage was produced including old advertising material from each decade that was shown on all screens throughout the evening.

Entertainment was provided by the 'Bootleg Beatles' so following a dinner and short quiz the cake was cut and the party started!

Live camera feeds onto the screens of the band along with the Spar imagery of the decades continued throughout the night ending with a guest DJ bringing the evening to an end.
